Pharmaceutical Technician – Intern (1 Post) – VAC078, Bagamoyo

Pharmaceutical Technician will be responsible for handling all clinical trial pharmaceutical matters (drug and vaccine) as assigned by the senior pharmacists and Project Leader.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a qualified and experienced Pharmaceutical Technician within the VAC078 project who will be responsible for conducting drugs and vaccine (investigational medicinal product) accountability,study drugs Storage and dispensing, and study drugs/vaccine Preparation and administration.

The Pharmaceutical Technician will also monitor study drug/vaccine supplies, study drugs/vaccine Importation and export and Import permit application and follow-up.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have aDiploma in Pharmacy, and must also have a Pharmaceutical license.

Clinical Officer (1 Post) – VAC078, Bagamoyo

The Clinical Officer will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical care within established protocols and standards in clinical trial facility.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a qualified and experienced Clinical Officer within the VAC078 project who will be responsible for supervising study procedure and ensure ring that are all done well as per approved protocol ICH Guidelines and relevant local regulation (National Institute of Medical Research and Tanzania Food and Drug Authority), to review laboratory results and resolve quires related to data collected and to recruit, follow up as study scheduled as specified by each protocol and SOPs.

The Clinical Officer will also ensure that protocol standard operating procedures and all related study documents are well communicated and duly followed by all personnel involved in the trial.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, with at least 1-year of working experience.

The Assistant Nursing Officer will be responsible for playing a key role in providing research nursing services, day-to-day planning and execution of clinical study activities.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a qualified and experienced Assistant Nursing Officer within the VAC078 project   who will be responsible for participating and contributing in the design of data collection tools such as source documents and case report forms. The Nursing Officer will also assist senior study nurses in developing workflow, procedures and duty roster during clinical trial implementation, give counsel to volunteers with respect to medical conditions and provide appropriate guidance related to research activities, collect and document data as defined in the study protocols.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery, with proven experience in working in facility settings.

Data Officer (1 Post) – DYNAMIA, Bagamoyo

The Data Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing data from the initial design phase through to the final delivery of project datasets to the sponsor.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a qualified and experienced Data Officer within the DYNAMIA project who will be responsible for developing a comprehensive data management plan (DMP) to define the data collection and processing workflow, oversee and mentor data clerks and officers, providing necessary training.

The Data Officer will also develop and maintain the study’s Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system and clinical trial database, develop and maintain data-related SOPs and manuals, maintain data supplies inventory and oversee archival procedures for all study data and spearhead the analysis and resolution of data queries.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics/Applied Statistics/Biostatistics/Computer Science, with at least two (2) years of experience in data management or related roles within a clinical research setting.

The Administrative Assistant will also coordinate and manage imprest request and retirement for project staff, coordinate with other administrators to ensure smooth flow of activities and that all the projects get the support they need. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will prepare for and provide logistical support to ensure the success of all major scientific meetings conducted internally.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a Diploma in Public/Business Administration/Sociology or any related field. They should also have a 1-year experience in clinical research and should be computer literate with basic managerial skills
