The Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) is a regional intergovernmental management development institution. ESAMI’s headquarters are in Arusha, Tanzania, Eastern and Southern African Management Institute.
The institute was founded with the primary goal of providing trained personnel to the region in a variety of critical areas such as policy management, transportation management, financial management, information technology management, health management, human resources management, project management, energy and environment management, and gender management, among others.
The goal was to teach medium to senior managers from the region to improve their management performance while keeping global challenges in mind but with a particular focus on the African environment.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
Applicants for Bachelor Programs must meet the following requirements:
- A’ Level or an equivalent qualification from a recognized organization, or
- An ordinary diploma from a recognized institution is required, as is the ability to speak and write English properly.
Bachelor of Public Administration
The Bachelor of Public Administration program seeks to improve and transfer intermediate knowledge, skills, and good traits in public administration to students so that they would be able to effectively carry out public administration activities in their companies at the conclusion of the course.
Candidates for Bachelor’s programs must meet the following requirements:
- A’Levels or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution are required.
- An ordinary diploma (NTA Level 6) from a recognized institution is required.

Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM)
Evidence from the subregion’s capacity requirements assessment revealed deficiencies in management and administration, particularly at the supervisory level. Given the challenges of managing the existing and future “Fluid knowledge worker” in a more competitive planning and operating environment, the demand for skill upgrading in management and administration becomes even more pressing.
As a result, the diploma in human resource management program will instill in students the competences in management and administration required to meet the identified capacity shortage.
DHRM therefore intends to improve and transmit intermediate knowledge, skills, and positive traits in human resource management to applicants so that at the conclusion of the course, they will be able to carry out supervisory tasks in business administration activities in their firms.
Applicants for Diploma Programs must have the following qualifications:
- Holder of basic technical certificate (NTA level 4);
- Possession of Non – NTA certificate in relevant programmes;
- Holders of A’ level certificate;
- Ability to speak and write English clearly.
Diploma in Management and Administration (DMA)
Applicants for the Diploma Programmes must have the following qualifications:-
- Holder of basic technical certificate (NTA level 4);
- Possession of Non – NTA certificate in relevant programmes;
- Holders of A’ level certificate;
- Ability to speak and write English clearly.
