JINSI ya Kupata AVN Number NACTE Verification System NAVS,NACTE Award Verification System (NAVS) AVN, The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) has implemented the Award Verification System (NAVS) to ensure the quality of education issued in technical colleges.

This system requires applicants with diploma certificates seeking admission to higher education institutions to verify their credentials with NACTE before proceeding with their application procedures. The verification process is conducted online through the NACTE website, where applicants are required to register and follow the outlined procedures.

Verification Process and Requirements

  1. Online Registration: Applicants need to visit the NACTE website at www.nacte.go.tz and access the NAVS portal to initiate the verification process.
  2. Award Verification Number (AVN): Upon successful verification, applicants receive an Award Verification Number (AVN), which serves as proof of verified credentials. This AVN must be attached to the application forms submitted to higher education institutions.
  3. Deadline and Fees: The deadline for credential verification is 20 July 2017. Local applicants are charged Sh 10,000, while those with foreign certificates have to pay Sh 50,000 for the verification process.

Importance of NAVS in Education Quality Control

The implementation of NAVS by NACTE aims to enhance the quality of education provided by technical colleges by ensuring that only verified students are admitted to higher education institutions. Failure to undergo the verification process may result in applicants being considered as “ghost students” and facing legal consequences. Additionally, institutions found registering unverified students may also face disciplinary actions.

Evolution from Central Admission System (CAS)

Previously, applications for higher learning institutions were coordinated by the Central Admission System (CAS) under the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). However, with the introduction of NAVS, applicants now directly apply to institutions, emphasizing individual choice in selecting educational paths.
