MUHIMBILI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES (MUHAS)
The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) started as the Dar-es-Salaam Medical School in 1963.

The School transformed into the Faculty of Medicine of the University of
Dar-es-Salaam in 1968. The Faculty was merged with the Muhimbili hospital, to create the Muhimbili Medical Centre (MMC) in 1977.

After separation with Muhimbili Hospital, the Faculty of Medicine was upgraded in 1991 through Parliament Act. No. 9 of 1991 to become a constituent college of the University of Dar-es-Salaam known as the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCHS).

Over the years MUCHS made significant achievements in terms of increased students enrolment and development of several new academic programmes. The Parliament Act No. 9 of 1991 that established MUCHS was repealed in 2005 through the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005.

Subsequently, MUHAS was established in 2007 through Article 1 of the Charter of Incorporation in line with the Universities Act No 7 of 2005.

LECTURER (Oncology) – 1 Post

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To undertake an induction, course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before
  • To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • To mentor junior staffs in relevant fields
  • To participate/contribute in curriculum development
  • To participate in developing and managing various university/constituent college
    activities
  • To undertake research and publish/disseminate results
  • To carry out consultancy and community services
  • To write teaching manuals and compendia
  • To supervise field practical, undergraduate special projects, Masters and PhD dissertations/theses
  • To attend/organize workshops, conferences and symposia
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a holder of a Masters of Medicine Degree in Clinical Oncology with a with at least a GPA of 4.0 out of 5 at Masters level, and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 or its equivalent in Bachelor Degree with a minimum score of B+ in relevant subjects.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Master of Dentistry (MDent.), Master of Medicine in Community Health
(MMed Community Health), Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health
(MMedPaed and Child Health) and Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology (MMED OG) with a GPA of at least 4.0 out of 5.0 and an average of B+ grade in the relevant subject and first Degree GPA with a minimum GPA of 3.8 from a recognized University.

  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a holder of Master’s Degree in one of the following fields Applied Epidemiology or Epidemiology and Biostatistics with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5 and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in the first degree either in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dentistry, Bsc. Environmental Health, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Statistics or other health-related sciences from a recognized reputable University with a minimum score of B+ in relevant subjects.

TUTORIAL ASSISTANT – (Economics) – 1 Post

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understudying senior faculty by attending Lectures, seminars, tutorials and practicals where applicable.
  • Study and acquire skills and knowledge in training, research and consultancy.
  • Assist in research and consultancy projects.
  • Develop training proposals conducted by Senior Faculty.
  • Participate in curricular development.
  • Participate in the provision of services for Biomedical, Laboratory and Clinical departments.
  • Perform any other assignments and duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or Head of the Department

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following Economics, Statistics, Economics of Development, International Economics and Trade, Business Economics with a GPA of at least 3.8 or above.

Master’s Degree in Physiology or any related Biomedical sciences (Nutrition,
Immunosciences, Infectious Physiology and others) with a GPA of 4.0 and above and a Doctor of Medicine degree, Physiology, Nursing, Dietetics, Human Nutrition, or equivalent qualification, with a GPA of 3.8 and above, both from recognized and reputable Universitie.

ASSISTANT LECTURER (Biomedical Engineering) – 1 POST

  • To conduct and publish/disseminate research results;

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a GPA of 4.0 and above. And a Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, MD or any other equivalent qualification, with a GPA of 3.8 and above, both from recognized
and reputable Universities with a minimum score of B+ in relevant subjects.

REMUNERATION PUTS 2.1

TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (Botany) – 1 Post

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is a training post; the staff is required to undergo a Master Degree training programme
    and attain a GPA of at least 4.0;
  • Undergo an Induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before;
  • Understudy senior members, Including attending lecturers and seminars, tutorials and
    practical training;
  • Conduct tutorials, seminars and practical’s;
  • Assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities; and Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor of Science/Bachelor Degree in Botany with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 both from recognized Institutions.

REMUNERATION PUTS 1.1

TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (Opthalmology 5 Yrs) – 1 Post

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is training post; the staff is required to undergo a Masters Degree training programme;
  • To undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for those who had none before;
  • To understudy senior members, including attending lectures and seminars, tutorials and
    practical training;
  • To conduct tutorials, seminars and practical;
  • To assist in research, consultancy and outreach activities; and
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authorities.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Applicant must be a holder of Doctor of Medicine (MD) with a minimum GPA of 3.8 from a recognized and reputable Medical University and has a minimum score of B+ in the relevant subjects and must have completed one-year internship program.
