Sifa za Kujiunga Na Taasisi ya Uhasibu Arusha 2024/2025,The Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) is a parastatal Educational Institution founded in 1990 under the Institute of Accountancy Arusha Act. The Institute’s Governing Council is in charge of general management and monitoring.
Over time, the Institute has created a total of 37 academic programs ranging from the Basic Technician Certificate to the Ordinary Diploma, Bachelor Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, and Master’s Degree.
The Institute also offers short-term Courses and Seminars, many of which are tailored to the needs of its clients. In addition, as part of its Mission, it does consulting and research. General Entry Requirements Into Institute of Accountancy Arusha
- Completed A’ Level Studies before 2014: To be admitted into Institute of Accountancy Arusha, applicant must have two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5)
- Completed A’ Level Studies in 2014 and 2015: Two principal passes (‘C’ and above) with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C= 2; D = 1; E = 0.5)
- Completed A’ Level Studies from 2016 onwards: Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points in Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5)
- Foundation Programme of the OUT: A GPA of 3.0 accumulated from six core subjects and at least a C grade from three subjects in a respective cluster (Arts, Science and Business Studies)
- PLUS: An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with at least 1.5 from two subjects OR An Ordinary Diploma from the recognized institution with a GPA of at least 2.0 OR NTA level 5 /Professional Technician Level II Certificate.

Bachelor Degree In Finance And Banking (BFB)
The Bachelor of Finance and Banking (BFB) curriculum focuses on preparing students to think critically and identify innovative methods to enhance the sector. Students learn to communicate effectively on all levels and gain leadership skills in the banking business to become change agents by making complicated and tough decisions utilizing current financial methodologies.
To be admitted into Bachelor of Finance and Banking (BFB) one must have the following qualifications
- Two principal passes in the following subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Mathematics.
- An applicant must have at least a subsidiary or pass in Mathematics at O’ level if one of the principal passes is not Mathematics.
- The two principal passes MUST make an aggregate of 4.0 points as a minimum or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Or
- Lower Second Class Diploma with a GPA of 3.0 in Finance and Banking or Economics and Finance, or Cooperative Management and Accounting or Business Management, or Accountancy , Economics and Project Planning , Insurance and Risk, Taxation, Credit Management, Accountancy and Micro Finance, Accountancy with Information Technology or any related qualification AND 4 passes at O level or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Bachelor Degree in Business Management (BBM)
To be admitted into Bachelor Degree in Business Management one must have the following qualifications
Two principal passes in each of the following subjects: advanced mathematics, agriculture, computer science, kiswahili, English language, French, Arabic, fine art, economics, commerce, accountancy, physics, chemistry, and biology. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for the OUT Foundation Programme.
NTA LEVEL 6: Lower Second Class Diploma with a GPA of 3.0 in Finance and Banking or Economics and Finance, Economics and Project Planning, Insurance and Risk, Taxation, Credit Management, Accountancy and Micro Finance, Accountancy with Information Technology or Business Management or Procurement and Logistics Management or Human Resources Management or Business Administration or Development Planning or Enterprise Management or Community Development or Local Government Administration or Public Administration or Accountancy or any related qualification AND 4 passes at O level or Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Bachelor Degree in Accountancy (BA)
