NAFASI 20 za Kazi Mkulazi Holding Company August 2024,Mkulazi Holding Company Ltd (MHCL) is a joint venture company currently owned by National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and Tanzania Prisons Service.
The principal activity of the company is to produce quality sugar and related
downstream products such as bio-ethanol, particle boards, pulp.
The Company is implementing sugar project at Mbigiri Estate located in Kilosa District Morogoro Region targeting to produce 50,000MT of sugar per annum once full operational.
The company wishes to invite competent, qualified, experienced and dedicated
Tanzanians to fill in the vacancy positions currently available in the company as follows:
Shift Engineer – 2 Posts: He/She will be reporting to Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Allocates tasks to Supervisors;
- Monitor and control cane quality and cane feeding;
- Monitor operation of feed tables, levellers and fibrizer to achieve
recommended Preparation Index; - Optimize mill performance by checking imbibition application, mill hydraulic and speed of cane carrier of mill number 1;
- Ensure stable supply of steam to the plant;
- Proper handling of bagasse reclaimable system;
- Attend all breakdowns during the shift;
- Supervises plant preventive program during the shift; and
- Perform any other lawful duties assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture Engineering or
Chemical & Processing Engineering or equivalent qualifications coupled with four (4) years working experience in food processing industry.
Front loader operator/Wheel Loader – 3 Posts: He/She will be reporting to –
Shift Engineers.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Inspecting equipment before and after each use including oil, transmission fluid and greasing;
- Maintain proper records of machine in the log book;
- Perform effective operation of the equipment by recognizing unusual machine movements and sound;
- Effectively and safely operate machines, utilize machine specific controls and attachments to complete all lawful assigned tasks;
- Interpret verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators, ground personnel and rigger and act accordingly; and
- Perform any other lawful duties assigned by supervisor.

Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences
Holder of Form four (4) certificate and above. At least two (2) years working
experience as Front loader operator with class F license.
Rigger-Mill House – 1 Post: He/She will be reporting to Shift Supervisor-Mill.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Make sure that the machinery is aligned, levelled and anchored;
- Select the right pulleys, booms, braces and cables for various jobs;
- Asses the risks associated with lifting and moving heavy equipment through confined space;
- Clean, dismantle and store rigging equipment after the job is completed;
- Ensure that safety procedure comply with state laws and company policies ;
- Prepare roads for transport loads by inspecting;
- Observes load limits Estimates safe loads of equipment/ component/material to be lifted;
- Communicates any problems to the Supervisor; and
- Performs any other lawful duties as assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Form four (4) certificate with at least two (2) years’ working
experience(s).
Boiler Maker-Workshop – 2 Posts: He/She will be reporting to Supervisor Fabrication and machining
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Fabricating parts;
- Issues welding rods;
- Ensures good housekeeping;
- Prepare welding materials requests;
- Reconditions factory spares;
- Selects electrodes for welding various machine components; and
- Performs any other lawful duties assigned by superior.
Academic Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Holder of Form four (4) Certificate and possession of Certificates in Welding and
fabrication NTA Level III or equivalent qualification coupled with five (5) years in Fabrication Workshop.
Turbine Operator – 1 Post: He/She will be reporting to Technician –High Speed Machines.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Monitor lubrications and control oil pressure across the turbo alternator set;
- Observe and maintain turbo alternator set operating parameters including Vibrations and Output voltages;
- Maintain required vacuum and water level in the condenser;
- Manage lubricant oil and cooling water system;
- Check on various gauges and flow meters;
- Recording in the Log sheet all critical turbo alternator set operating parameters;
- Ensure turbo alternator set operate safely and efficiently;
- Maintain and monitor plant compressed air systems;
- Troubleshooting of any fault on turbo alternator set;
- Performing maintenance on turbo alternator set during scheduled stops; and
- Perform any other lawful duties as assigned by supervisor.
Academic qualifications and experience:
Holder of Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
qualification.
Technician – Instrumentation – 1 Post: He/She will be reporting to Engineer –
Instrumentation.
Job Descriptions and Working Experiences:
- Reads instrument shift report;
- Conducts routine maintenance of electronic field and control panel
instruments at the front end; - Conducts routine maintenance of field and control panel instruments at sugar pre-pack station;
- Communicates on the functioning of instruments;
- Carries out allocated electronic tasks;
- Carries out planned maintenance on electronic equipment;
- Reports on the status of the instrumentation spares and requirements;
- Ensures that instruments are in good working condition;
- Overhauls and calibrates electronic control instruments at the weighbridge;
- Overhauls and calibrates electronic control instruments at the front end;
- Overhauls and calibrates pH electronic control instruments at the front end;
- Overhauls and calibrates condensate conductivity control instruments; and
- Performs any other lawful duties as assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Form four (4) certificate and possession of Full Technician Certificate
in instrumentation or electronics. At least three (3) years’ working experience.
Maintenance Worker – Instrumentation –2 Posts: He/She will be reporting to Technician – Instrumentation.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Ensures proper operation of factory instruments;
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, network gateways, electrical drives, backup systems including batteries and universal power supplies;
- Cleans field instruments;
- Performs services and calibration of laboratory instruments;
- Checks and services the weighing scale;
- Maintains a variety of electronically controlled equipment such as control loops, safety circuits, programmable sequences and operator control panels;
- Assemble and install new or replacement of instruments;
- Performs routine maintenance on instruments, equipment; and systems;
- Performs any other lawful duties as assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Form four (4) certificate with Electronics Certificate NTA Level III or
equivalent qualification coupled with at least three (3) years working experience
in sugar Industry.
Maintenance Worker – Electrical – 2 Posts: He/She will be reporting to Electrical Technician.
Job Descriptions and Working Experiences:
- Undertake maintenance on all electrical equipment, components and installations;
- Provide prompt response to inquiries whenever there is a breakdown;
- Fix and maintain lighting fixtures and fittings;
- Traces electrical faults;
- Control safety;
- Performs electrical installations;
- Take various electrical measurements; and
- Performs any other duties lawful assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Form four (4) certificate and Certificate in domestic and industrial
electrical installation NTA Level III or equivalent qualification. At least three (3)
years’ working experience as electrician in a factory.
Operator – Effluent Treatment Plant – 3 Posts: He/She will be reporting to
Supervisor-Effluent and water Treatment Plant.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Takes water samples from recommended points;
- Analyses the water quality;
- Ensures that the plant works as per required standards;
- Maintains cleanliness inside the control room and surrounding compound;
- Ensures that the chemical dosing pumps are working effectively;
- Adheres to safety standards;
- Checks the stocks of the chemicals at the plant and advises the foreman accordingly;
- Checks in sequence the performance of automation of individual units and report any malfunctions immediately;
- Undertakes/carries out routine cleaning of the plant weekly as per
manufacturer’s instructions; - Performs any other lawful duties as assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent coupled with at least two (2) years’ working experience.
Supervisor – Juice Clarification – 2 Posts: He/She will be reporting to
Manufacturing Chemist.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Adjust valves to obtain specified temperature and pressure and obtain super saturated solution without caramelizing sugar;
- Turns valves to stop boiling and to break vacuum seal on pan;
- Washes and steams pan after striking to remove sugar remaining on pan body and calandria;
- Make sure all strike samples are checked under microscope;
- Strike all Massecute at required brix;
Should not boil the pan too high, - above the “FULL” mark;
- Ensure there is no force grain in the massecuite; an
- Performs any other lawful duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experiences:
Holder of at least form four (4) certificate coupled with three (3) years’ experiences in Sugar processing. 11. Planning Engineer Project & Maintenance 1 Post: He/She will be reporting to Project Engineer.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:
- Controls the movement of assets in the plant asset register and notify
Administration, department of asset disposals; - Prepares maintenance schedules of all assets in respect of planned
maintenance; - Controls the release of scheduled work and inducting safety procedures;
- Controls the routine maintenance of equipment by ensuring that
recommended maintenance satisfies equipment condition particularly for off crop planning purposes; - Ensures that plant labeling of assets is correct and complete;
- Analyzes new equipment installations for defects before final commissioning or handling over by supplier/contractor to factory;
- Check call outs and updates standby roster;
- Provides inputs on preparation of weekly, monthly and seasonal
maintenance reports; - Trains personnel in use of planned maintenance system;
- Provide inputs for preparations of budgets within the planning project section; and
- Perform any other lawful duties assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Working Experience:
Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Processing Engineering or equivalent qualifications. Registered by Professional body and have four (4) years’ working experience in manufacturing industry and largescale agricultural production or equivalent.Salaries and other fringe benefits for the above vacancies will be paid ina ccordance with the Company’s Salary Structure and other related manuals.
