Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive effective sales initiation, pipeline management, call reporting and conversion.

  • Facilitate customers to invest in the government securities.
  • Facilitate issuing companies on the registry services.
  • Facilitate customers and NMB branch network in all activities related to Brokerage Agency
  • Implement the regulatory changes that have an operational impact.
  • Attend and proactively participate in all meetings / workshops / team building and provide input.
  • Understand and manage risks associated with the area of responsibility and its impact on the bank.
  • Ensure service is provided in accordance to agreed standard Service Level Agreement.
  • Ensure queries are responded to within turn-around times, adequate resolution and follow-through.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of the securities industry

Analysts; Client Origination at NMB – 2 Positions July 05-2024, To evaluate counter-party credit risks associated with Wholesale Banking lending at the client interface, with the primary objective to contain credit risk within acceptable parameters, as well as develop and maintain close relationships with all departments and borrowers on broader lending, Structured Trade finance and portfolio monitoring across Wholesale Banking customers.

Main Responsibilities:’Strategic Focus

  • Provision of direct (specialist/ professional) credit evaluation services at the customer interface and apprise client application timely within short Turn Around time.
  • Participate fully in the syndication and co-financing process.
  • Identify credit and risk management requirements at the source of the deal negotiation/ business proposal.
  • Utilize industry risk analysis available to identify and understand contextual threats to existing and potential clients.
  • Prepare Business Engagement Request and present to Credit and CREDCO for an appetite test.
  • Conduct credit evaluation interviews during deal negotiation to obtain enough and appropriate information to evaluate business risks and deal viability, from a credit risk perspective.
  • Decline non-viable deals at source, however, work in partnership with Senior Analyst, Head, Wholesale Client
  • Origination, Relationship Managers, and clients to identify alternatives that could bring deals/ proposals within risk acceptable parameters relative to profitability.
  • Present and defend own judgement and senior credit evaluations to clients in a manner which does not negatively affect the business relationship.
  • Identify, quantify, and evaluate sources of risk in relation to profitability of business proposal and financial viability of the corporation, interrogates information obtained to gain a thorough understanding of business parameters which create profit/ value as well as the associated risks.
  • Support other teams in the department to develop high quality credit solutions to customers and recommend appropriate facilities in line with risk evaluation with the view of obtaining fast credit approval from credit decision maker.
  • Evaluate whether proposals meet sound business criteria and counter-party credit risk falls within acceptable parameters, and recommends appropriate business credit facilities, including terms or conditions of facilities.
  • Accurate use of Risk Grading and Risk Based Pricing tools during credit appraisal for proper decision.
  • Present and defend credit proposals to Credit and CREDCO for their support.
  • Build relationship with Analyst, Senior Analyst, Relationship Managers and Senior Managers to improve quality of business proposals and turnaround time on credit origination and portfolio monitoring
  • Propose appropriate financial and non-financial covenants at the facility origination and monitor covenants post credit facility disbursement.
  • Share joint credit responsibility for business.
  • Understand the implications of substandard delivery to colleagues and the entire bank.
  • Ensure 100 availability of the services to the Wholesale Banking team.
  • Monitor and Control quality of portfolio using ‘Condition of Sanction’ triggers where possible.
  • Discuss with credit sanctioners and credit administration deteriorating trends and trigger events if they give cause for concern and advise the Relationship Manager simultaneously.
  • Plan and implement annual credit reviews for the individual borrower and portfolio.
  • Monitor daily referrals to ensure that clients facilities are managed within the parameters set by credit exercising discretion regarding account conduct based on a close knowledge and understanding of client activities.
  • Proactively and timely process credit applications for existing facilities ensuring consistent, thorough, and timely submission within agreed bank Turn Around Time.
  • Monitor the utilization in excess or arrears of credit facilities and assists Relationship Managers in managing the risk exposure.
  • Review the correctness of data and information obtained including financials, Risk Based Pricing and Risk Grading tools calculations.

Knowledge and Skills:
