TRCS Established as an autonomous National Society (NS) by Act of Parliament No. 71 of December 1962 and revised by the Tanzanian Parliament in 2019, the Tanzania Red Cross Society (TRCS) is a voluntary humanitarian organization.

The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) recognized Tanzania Red Cross Society and granted it membership in 1963. Dar es Salaam is home to the TRCS Headquarters.

The Red Cross Society of Tanzania is searching seeks motivated individuals to occupy the positions listed.

Officer for Field Civil Engineering – 1 POST

Accountabilities

  • In order to guarantee the prompt and effective completion of the construction projects under the three different projects that TRCS and SRC are collaborating on in Tanzania, TRCS is looking for a Field Civil Engineer Officer.
  • The engineer will be collaborating closely with contractors and their engineering staff, as well as government employees (district engineers, RUWASA).
  • Additionally, the engineer will be reporting to and advising the TRCS Program Manager at the Kigoma Town Office.
  • Provide accurate and precise job certification.

Requirements

  • Education: Having an ERB registration as a graduate engineer is regarded as an extra benefit.
    a Bachelor’s degree in water or civil engineering from an accredited university or college in good standing as a licensed professional engineer
  • As a graduate engineer, being registered with the ERB is considered an added bonus.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with contractors, local actors, partners, and other stakeholders at all staff levels

Knowledge

  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with computations including hydraulics and structural analysis using AutoCAD, Arch CAD, EPANET, etc.
  • Efficient management of the Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook suite.
  • comprehension of building structure design and construction
    knowledge of solar panel installation, wiring, and battery storage systems knowledge of water projects, including pump and pipe mechanics knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards strong planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with contractors, local actors, partners, and other stakeholders at all staff levels

Experience:

  • At least three years of experience managing building and WASH projects
  • Previous experience managing a building project is required.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Kiswahili is required.Required for travel and work environment:
    in an office building in Kigoma Town
    Frequent field visits to construction projects in the Kigoma region (Kakonko, Uvinza, etc.). Field visits last anywhere from one to three days.
